First Hernando Youth Soccer Club (FHYSC) is looking for a part-time Athletic Field Maintenance Worker to start immediately, or as soon as possible.

Title:               Athletic Field Maintenance Worker

Location:        Anderson Snow Park, Soccer Fields

                        1360 Anderson Snow Road

                        Spring Hill, Florida

Hours:            Part-time position.  Hours vary and may include nights and weekends.

Pay:                $15.00 per hour          



To prepare and maintain six (6) soccer fields for practice, games and other events throughout the year.


1.      Under minimal supervision, perform tasks related to having soccer fields ready for play on weekly basis.

2.      Measuring, marking and lining fields for all age groups. 

3.      Ensuring each field has proper size goals situated for games and practices when necessary.  Also, moving goals off playing surfaces and securing them. (locking them up)

4.      For all games, ensuring there are player benches, one for each team. Removing said benches following weekend games and when fields are to be mowed by the County.

5.      Monitor and assist in maintaining condition of equipment, to include goals and nets, replacing goal nets when needed, and bringing to attention any safety concerns with any fields, goals, etc.

6.      Providing manual labor functions such as filling holes, leveling playing surface, and removing debris from playing surface.

7.      Operate and maintain equipment such as golf cart, paint lining machine, etc.

8.      Prepare fields for a variety of other events, such as tournaments, clinics, opening and closing ceremonies, and any other events that may occur during the year.

9.      Assist in maintaining proper inventory of supplies, equipment, and other items required to perform assigned duties efficiently.

10.  Ability to work independently and to complete tasks in a timely manner.

11.  Represent FHYSC in a professional and appropriate manner with respect to dealing with players, parents and the public.

12.  Attend Board Meetings or other staff meetings as necessary.

13.  Perform other duties as assigned.


Applicant must be 18 years or older.

Applicant must have a valid Florida Driver’s License

Necessary knowledge, skills and abilities relative to the position.

Successful completion of required background check.



The work is completely outdoors, subject to heat, humidity, damp, wet and cool temperatures. 

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, lift and walk over rough or uneven surfaces.

At times, it will be necessary to lift or move heavy objects, such as goals and/or benches.

The duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.  The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.

*This position is NOT responsible for mowing the six (6) soccer fields.  The County currently is responsible for that.  The person hired will be responsible for communicating with the County employees to ensure that the goals, benches, etc. are removed from playing surfaces to allow the County to mow the fields.

*This position reports directly to the Executive Board of Directors
